Each day we will be sharing one speaker’s presentation from the Workshop 3 session titled ‘10 speakers, 5 minutes, 1 slide’. Workshop 3 was held on Thursday, 19 November 2015, at the Royal Society of New Zealand in Wellington.
Today, we share with you Dame Dr Claudia Orange’s presentation. Speakers were asked to present three ideas on how we might achieve a well-informed civil society in 2030. Below are Dame Dr Claudia’s ideas.
Hear more about her three ideas in her video presentation below. The videos are also available to view on the McGuinness Institute YouTube channel.
We would like to acknowledge all the speakers and participants; their input was critical. The speakers were Dame Dr Claudia Orange, Dr Carwyn Jones, Jane Wrightson,
Dr Helen Sissons, Dr Siouxsie Wiles, Louise Green, Terry Burrell, Tara Ross, Sylvia Nissen and James Dunne.
Project work programme for 2016
After the publication of the booklet in early 2016, our first additional output will be in Policy Quarterly. The Civics and Media Project has been given space for three articles in the May issue to articulate our findings and inform the policy community. The focus after that will be the World Journalism Education Congress, which will be held in Auckland from 14 to 16 July 2016. The project sponsors have been invited both to attend the conference and to present a session discussing the ways forward that were developed throughout the workshop series.
